‘Aao School Chalein’ program aimed to ensure that enrolment rate increases. However, any such efforts can be daunting and long. Breaking down this process of improvement into doable steps is termed as the Micro-Improvement approach. It enables school leaders, teachers and other stakeholders to  break down any big or ambitious school improvement idea into a series of clear, actionable, feasible projects that can be implemented within their locus of control.

The Education Technology  Department of SCERT Haryana initiated this program which involved taking Micro-steps such as organising activities and events in schools to discuss enrolment, community events to spread awareness about student enrolment. School leaders and teachers interacted with parents, addressed their queries and informed them about all the facilities the schools can offer. This initiative increased enrolments across schools where student enrolment rates were low. In 21 schools, enrolments increased more than 10%, with maximum enrollment increase at 60% in one school. 

This micro-improvement project was enabled as Projects on DIKSHA (the National Digital Infrastructure for Education by the Ministry of Education of which ShikshaLokam is a co-creator). School Leaders could take up the project, contextualise it to their needs and increase enrolment in their schools.
